Las Vegas Explorer Conference - Ex-Con
"Ex-Con" stands for Explorer Conference, as in Law Enforcement Explorer Conference. Ex-Con was founded by three career law enforcement officers employed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. ALL three founders were former Explorers AND Explorer Advisors in Southern Nevada. Between the three, they have over 70 years combined Law Enforcement Explorer experience.
Ex-Con was established in 2003 in order to provide the best Law Enforcement Explorer Competition in the United States. The goal was to improve upon various other types of Explorer competitions that LVMPD Explorers and advisors had participated in. Ex-Con (The Competition) offers a significantly low cost, challenging, innovative and well organized competition unlike any other in the United States.
In 2011, Ex-Con Inc. was established. Ex-Con (as an organization) was substantially growing, so we incorporated in the State of Nevada as a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) entity. This expansion allowed us to better facilitate our mission and support our local programs. In 2017 Ex-Con Inc. merged with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Explorer Program. As the LVMPD Explorer Program, we strive to grow, improve and excel in the products we offer Explorers/Cadets, and their Advisors, from around the country.
